Description

Lutein is a yellow plant pigment found in fruits, vegetables and animal products such as egg yolks. It accumulates in large amounts in the retina of the eye where it provides antioxidant protection. It is very similar to zeaxanthin, another yellow plant pigment. Most people do not consume enough zeaxanthin in their daily diet, and supplementation may be necessary.

A deficiency may contribute towards problems with vision and eye health.

ACTIVE INGREDIENT AMOUNT PER CAPSULE DOSAGE

Lutein 15mg 1 Capsules per day

Contraindications

Pregnancy and lactation – Some evidence suggests that lutein may reduce the risk of pre-eclampsia in pregnant woman. This study was done with dietary amounts and there is insufficient evidence for safe use of supplementation during pregnancy and lactation. Always tell the pregnant mother to check with her midwife before taking.
