Description

Butyrate is a short-chain fatty acid produced by the intestinal bacteria through the fermentation of non-digestible fibers. At the intestinal level butyrate plays a regula-tory role in maintaining optimal gut health by:

- ameliorating the mucosal barrier

- fueling the renewal of the epithelial lining

- stimulating the production of s IgAs

On a local and also multi-systemic level,butyrate expands the pool of regulatory T Cells and promotes self-tolerance.

Butyrate can be a powerful agent in the fight against auto-immunity, excessive inflammation and neuroinflammation, provided that it is delivered by a vehicle that guarantees high local concentration and optimal bio-availability, ideal for targeted release.
